Broken

The perpetual challenge of the human race- to make everything better. We try to give our kids the things in life that we never had. We work to improve our communities. We vote to change the direction of our country. All we want is to leave the world a little better than we found it. But no matter how hard we try or how much we work or how often we vote or how desperately we want to make everything better, it just seems as though we always come up short. We’ve crunched the numbers a thousand times and on paper it should work. Medical advances, increased longevity, technological breakthroughs, our understanding of the world around us now doubles every year and yet, the truth be told, we haven’t solved much of anything. Something is desperately wrong. Something just doesn’t add up. Something is broken. Since the Garden, something really important has been systemically and utterly broken. But there is hope. And I’m not dreaming. In fact, Daniel was actually the one who was dreaming. And it is there in the prophecies of Daniel that we discover why everything can’t be fixed. At least, not yet.
