YA Greeters
Why it matters. You set the room and the tone. You’re the first face a visitor sees — the difference between feeling lost and feeling welcomed. Before anyone walks in, the room is ready; once they’re in, they’re greeted warmly and helped to a seat.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Arrive first to set the room: tables, chairs, flags, signage
- Welcome people warmly as they arrive — watch especially for newcomers
- Help people find open seats; notice anyone standing alone or arriving late
- Hand off anyone new to the New Guest Table
- Be the last to leave: tear down and reset the room
COMMITMENT
- Cadence: Weekly (biweekly rotation available)
- Arrival: 5:30pm, Thursdays — first in, last out
- Stay through teardown (~9:30pm)
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Friendly, energetic, and genuinely glad to see people
- Reliable and willing to do the unglamorous work of setup and teardown
- Attentive — notices the person no one else noticed
BEFORE YOU SERVE
- Baptized follower of Jesus
- Roughly 3 months at YA before serving
